KYC & AML
What KYC and AML Mean
KYC stands for Know Your Customer – a set of identity verification procedures we apply to every account on vegasnows.app. AML stands for Anti-Money Laundering – a framework of controls we use to detect and prevent financial crime on our platform. Both are mandatory obligations under our licence and under Australian anti-money laundering law administered by AUSTRAC.
These procedures are not barriers to playing – they are legal requirements that apply equally to every customer regardless of deposit size or activity level. Customers who complete verification promptly experience no delays in withdrawals or account access. We process verification requests as quickly as possible and keep customers informed throughout.
When We Ask for Verification
We initiate identity verification at the point of registration on vegasnows.app and may request additional documents at any later stage. No withdrawal will be processed until identity verification has been completed to our satisfaction. We may also trigger additional checks where account activity requires further review under our AML obligations.
Verification requests are sent to the contact details registered on your account. You will be given a reasonable period to respond before any account restrictions are applied. We do not impose verification requirements beyond what is necessary to meet our obligations under Australian law.
What Documents We Require
For standard identity verification, we require a government-issued photo ID such as an Australian driver’s licence or passport. We also require proof of your current residential address, such as a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last three months. Payment method verification may also be requested to confirm that deposits and withdrawals are made to accounts in your name.
In some cases we may ask for a selfie or live verification check to confirm that documents submitted belong to the account holder. All documents must be valid, legible, and unaltered – we do not accept expired, obscured, or digitally modified files. Customers whose documents cannot be verified to our required standard will be contacted for alternative identification before any account restrictions are applied.
Source of Funds
Our AML obligations require us to confirm the origin of funds deposited by customers whose account activity meets thresholds defined by AUSTRAC and our internal compliance framework. Acceptable documentation includes bank statements, payslips, tax assessment notices, or other records that confirm the legitimate source of your funds. We will provide a clear list of acceptable documents when a source of funds check is initiated.
All source of funds information is treated with full confidentiality and used only for AML compliance purposes. We will never use this information for marketing or share it with third parties outside our regulatory obligations. Records are retained for the minimum period required by Australian anti-money laundering law, which is seven years from the date of the transaction.
Data Security and Retention
All personal information collected during the KYC and AML process is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy published on vegasnows.app. Verification documents are stored on secure Australian servers and accessed only by authorised compliance staff on a need-to-know basis. We apply encryption and access controls to protect your information from unauthorised access or disclosure.
We retain KYC and AML records for the period required by our licence conditions and applicable Australian law. When retention periods expire, records are securely deleted or de-identified. You may request confirmation of what verification information we hold about you through the support section of vegasnows.app at any time.
